Maryland Weather: Snow Moves Out, Black Ice Becomes Next Concern
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Snow fell overnight Wednesday into Thursday morning, creating a mess on roads and leading to dozens of accidents. Now, officials are telling Marylanders to beware of black ice during their Friday morning commute.
Maryland State Police reported they responded to more than 100 accidents and more than 750 calls for service between Wednesday night and Thursday morning.
Some parts of Maryland saw up to six inches of snow, like McHenry. More than five inches was reported in Baltimore and Frederick counties, while Baltimore City, Cecil and Harford counties reported under five inches.

On Thursday night, the radar showed some snow showers south of Washington, D.C., and a light, isolate flurry around central Maryland. There was, however, no accumulation.
WJZ's Bob Turk says the next batch of precipitation will be on Saturday, with most areas seeing a mix of winter weather, and more freezing rain in areas south of Annapolis and Washington D.C.
February, on average, is the snowiest month of the year for Baltimore, and this year has proven to be no different.
