Maryland Weather: Summer Arrives With The Threat Of Severe Weather

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Summer is starting off with an uptick in humidity and the return of clouds. Temperatures will surge into the mid to upper 80s Tuesday Afternoon thanks to a warm front.

A few isolated showers are possible.

Scattered to numerous showers and storms are on deck for tomorrow.

We have declared Wednesday a WJZ Alert Day because of the possibility for strong to severe storms in the late afternoon through the late-night hours.

A cold front will push across the state and may trigger damaging winds, large hail and flooding.

In addition to being stormy, it will be very hot and humid, with highs reaching the upper 80s.

Unsettled weather is in store for the rest of the work week, with chances for showers and thunderstorms again on Thursday and Friday.
