Maryland Weather: Severe Thunderstorms Statewide

BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Severe thunderstorms are expected Monday night, with several thunderstorm warnings and watches in effect throughout the night.

Flash flood watches were in effect in Washington, Frederick, Carroll, Baltimore, Prince George's, Anne Arundel, Charles and Allegany County until 11 p.m.

Cecil, Kent, Queen Anne's, Talbot and Caroline County were under a flood watch until 6 a.m. Wednesday.

Severe thunderstorm warnings were in effect for Dorchester, Somerset, Wicomico and Worcester County in Maryland until 9:45 p.m.

Thunderstorm watches were dropped from the Baltimore area by around 7 p.m., but continued in the South and East parts of the state.

The main threat is 60 mph wind gusts and 1" of hail, our WJZ weather team said.

There are severe thunderstorm watches for Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Calvert, Caroline, Cecil, Charles, Dorchester, Harford, Howard, Kent, Montgomery, Prince Georges, Queen Anne's, St. Marys and Somerset County in MD until 11:00pm.
