Maryland Weather: Mostly Cloudy Tonight With A Chance For Showers

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Skies overnight will be mostly cloudy with a chance for a shower or two across the area.

Though we're hovering near 70 degrees this afternoon, temperatures will drop into the low to mid 50s later tonight.

Some patches of fog are also possible during the nighttime hours.

Wednesday will be partly to mostly cloudy with a chance for a shower or storm from late morning into the afternoon.

Highs will top out in the mid to upper 70s areawide.

Thursday will be dry, but rain will move back into the area by Friday morning in what will be the beginning of a prolonged period of wet and blustery weather through Mother's Day weekend.

Expect occasional rain from Friday afternoon through Friday night and all day Saturday.

Low pressure off the coast will keep a stiff northeast wind in place making it feel raw and chilly, especially on Saturday, when temperatures likely won't get out of the 50s.

Depending on how quickly the low pressure moves out, conditions will either improve by Mother's Day, or it will remain mostly cloudy, breezy with lingering showers through the day Sunday.

Right now, we are expecting conditions to improve by Sunday morning with highs near 60 by afternoon. Sunny and warmer weather will follow to start next week.
