Maryland Weather: A weak storm moves across Maryland

Derek Beasley has your Wednesday night forecast

BALTIMORE -- Expect a few scattered light showers through tonight as a weak storm system moves across the Baltimore area.

Skies will be overcast, and this will help keep temperatures a bit warmer overnight. Those temperatures will stay in the upper 30s and lower 40s.

Thursday will start out dry and remain overcast through the day.

It will be noticeably warmer on Thursday with temperature highs in the 50s.

Rain will move back into the area Thursday evening into Thursday night before tapering off early Friday morning.

A few rumbles of thunder are possible. Rain should move out quickly late Thursday night. Sunshine returns to the forecast on Friday.

Temperature highs on Friday afternoon will reach the low 50s with gradual clearing through the day.

On Friday, chances for snow showers will occur over far Western Maryland into Friday night.

Cooler weather will return this weekend with temperature highs back in the low- to mid-40s for Saturday and Sunday.

Expect a mix of sun and clouds on both days.

Temperatures will warm back up next week ahead of the next storm system, which is expected to arrive on Tuesday with more rain.

Temperatures through next week will remain above average with highs mainly in the 50s. No major cold outbreaks are expected through the end of January.
