Maryland Weather: Flash Flood Watch Across Parts Of State Overnight

BALTIMORE (WJZ) — A flash flood watch is set to go into effect for several areas in Maryland later Wednesday night.

The areas affected include Anne Arundel, Calvert, central and southeast Montgomery, Charles, Prince George's and St. Mary's counties. The watch takes effect at midnight and runs through Thursday morning.

Some heavy downpours moved through the area on Wednesday afternoon and evening. While there will be a lull in the rain Wednesday night, it will pick back up before tapering off on Thursday.

Some parts of the state could see as much as four inches of rain.

After the system moves through, things will be drier and cooler.
