Maryland Weather: Chilly, crisp Sunday with a mix of sun and clouds

BALTIMORE -- Tonight, there will be mostly clear to partly cloudy skies with temperature lows in the 20s.

Sunshine is in the forecast for Monday and Tuesday of this week along with a few clouds.

Temperature highs will be in the 40s while the lows at night will dip into the 20s again Monday night and Tuesday night. 

Clouds will increase on Wednesday as the next storm system approaches the area. 

Temperatures will again reach the 40s for highs. 

By Wednesday night, rain chances will return to the area with the potential for a rain/snow mix on Thursday morning before that mix turns into all rain during Thursday day. 

Any wintry weather will stay west of the Baltimore area and in the vicinity of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Western Maryland.  

The Baltimore area will start Thursday morning in the 30s and rise to close to 50 by that afternoon.   

Rain chances will continue on Friday ahead of a strong arctic cold front that will bring the coldest air of the season into the area on Friday and through Christmas weekend. 

Maryland could see lingering rain change to snow showers or flurries before ending as temperatures crash in the wake of the front. 

Little to no accumulation is expected during the winter wallop. 

Maryland will start with temperatures in the 40s that will drop into the 20s by Friday night. 

Temperature highs on Saturday will not get out of the 20s and the wind chills will be in the single digits on Saturday morning. 

Sunday morning will be colder with lows in the teens in most areas. Wind chills will be near zero to the single digits below zero along and west of I-95 and single digits elsewhere. 

It will be windy from Friday through Saturday in the wake of the front with northwesterly winds gusting over 30 miles per hour at times. 

The last full week of 2022 will begin with quiet and cool weather.
