Maryland Student Uses Racial Slurs In Online Video

WASHINGTON (AP) — Bullis School in Maryland is dealing with a controversial video in which a student can be heard making racially charged remarks.

In the video, which was recorded Saturday night and posted on Twitter, a senior Bullis student who is white can be heard saying the N-word and talking about lynching African-Americans.

What happened before or after the video is unclear, but a parent of the student says the student was studying Civil War racism and was quoting the "horrible language" in the movie "Django Unchained."

Bullis School has dismissed the student. Gerald Boarman, the head of the private school, says he was "disgusted" and "disheartened" by the video.

The student says in a statement that he was unaware he was being recorded and that his words were taken out of context. He says he "deeply regrets" his actions.
