Maryland Police Seek Witnesses In Alleged Kidnapping

BEL AIR, Md. (AP) — Maryland State Police are asking for the public's help as they investigate an alleged kidnapping.

Troopers were called to a Cracker Barrel restaurant in Bel Air on Friday afternoon and found a woman who told them she had been kidnapped and held against her will for several days before escaping from the trunk of a vehicle near the intersection of Maryland Route 543 and Interstate 95.

Authorities said Sunday they are trying to find any witnesses to the victim's escape.

Police have arrested 35-year-old Ransom Ingram Jr. of Parkville on charges of kidnapping, assault, false imprisonment and firearm-related charges.

Ingram was taken into custody without incident Saturday at a residence in Abingdon.
