Maryland Man Charged In Father's Death After Fight

LAUREL, Md. (AP) -- A Maryland man has been arrested on a murder charge in the death of his father during an argument.

Howard County police say 46-year-old Deepak Gupta and his father, 68-year-old Nandal Gupta, got into a physical fight Sunday at their home in Laurel, just across the Prince George's County line.

During the fight, police say Nandal Gupta began having chest pains. Paramedics responded to an emergency call and took him to a nearby hospital. He was pronounced dead soon after.

Police arrested Deepak Gupta shortly after and charged him with second-degree murder, manslaughter and two counts of assault.

No attorney is listed for Deepak Gupta in online court records.
