Opioid Prescriptions Down 22 Percent In Maryland Since 2017, Governor Hogan Says

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WJZ) -- Governor Hogan announced a decline in opioid prescriptions.

Hogan said prescriptions are down 22 percent since 2017.

The report said nearly 20 percent fewer patients received opioids.

The Hogan Administration committed more than $1 billion to combat the opioid epidemic.

Hogan said the decrease is partly because of the tracking system known as the Prescription Drug Monitoring Program.
