Maryland Gov. Hogan Says Durkin Firing Not The End Of Story

BALTIMORE (AP) — Though DJ Durkin has been fired as Maryland's football coach, Gov. Larry Hogan says questions still remain regarding the decision to reinstate him in the first place.

Hogan was among several state politicians who criticized the University System of Maryland board of regents for reinstating Durkin from administrative leave on Tuesday.

Hogan approved the decision by University President Wallace Loh to dismiss Durkin on Wednesday, saying Thursday, ""We're in a better place."

In an interview with WBAL radio, Hogan said, "This is not the end of the story. ... We've taken one step. Let's get to the bottom of it all, and if it takes weeks or months, let's make sure we get the right decisions."

Regarding Loh, Hogan said, "I have a lot of respect for him, but I have some concerns about this whole process and how it was handled."
