Maryland Courthouse To Partially Open After 3-Day Closure

UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (AP) -- The Prince George's County courthouse in Upper Marlboro is partially reopening after being closed for three weekdays in a row because of pipes that burst in freezing temperatures.

The building wing that houses the county's circuit court was set to reopen Tuesday, while the district court wing will remain closed. Hearings that had been scheduled for the district court are being moved to other jurisdictions.

Crews had worked last week to restore power and repair damage after a pipe burst in freezing temperatures. Additional pipes burst early Sunday morning, forcing the courthouse's continued closure Monday.

It's unclear when the district court will be able to reopen.
