Maryland Casinos Generate $82.8M In February

BALTIMORE (AP) -- Maryland's five casinos generated a total of $82.8 million in revenue last month.

The Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency released the February revenue numbers on Thursday.

Total casino revenue from February increased from the same month last year by $16.8 million, or about 25 percent.

However, when the Horseshoe Casino Baltimore is excluded, revenue dropped by about $6.2 million, or 9 percent at the other four casinos. The Baltimore casino opened in August.

Revenue at three casinos dropped in February, compared to the same period last year.

Only the Rocky Gap Casino Resort saw an increase. Its February revenue went up nearly $365,000, or about 12 percent, compared to February 2014.
