Maryland Boy,15, Dies After Car Hits His Bicycle

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) — Pennsylvania State Police say a 15-year-old boy from the western Maryland town of Williamsport died after the bicycle on which he was riding was hit by a car on the Pennsylvania side of the state line.

Police said in a statement that the collision occurred shortly after 7 p.m. Tuesday on Pennsylvania Route 416. They say the boy, whose name wasn't released, was pronounced dead at the Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, about seven miles from the crash.

Police say the boy pedaled into the southbound lane of the highway from a private drive and was hit by a Pontiac Grand Prix driven by a 28-year-old woman from Greencastle, Pennsylvania.
