Maryland Boy, Pennsylvania Girl Are Marbles Champs

WILDWOOD, N.J. (AP) -- A Pennsylvania girl and a Maryland boy are leaving New Jersey with all the marbles and some cash.

They won the National Marbles Tournament in Wildwood on Thursday.

Thirteen-year-old Emily Simkovich of Lansdown, Pennsylvania, beat Brooke Donald of Middeltown Valley, Maryland, in the girls' division.

Thirteen-year-old Devon Loewendick of Cumberland, Maryland, bested 14-year-old Luke Gaffigan of Frederick, Maryland, to win the boys' division.

The champion mibsters received trophies and $2,000 college scholarships.

And by tradition, Devon and Emily had to share a kiss on the cheek.
