Mark Zinno: The BCS Wasn't So Bad

The BCS era is over in college football. It went out with a bang as Florida State and Auburn played a classic game in the final year of the BCS with the playoff system beginning next year. Michael Felder of BleacherReport.com joined Zinno on "Last Call" to recap the game and the BCS itself.

Jameis Winston was the hero but he had to face adversity. "He did not have a great game. But he found a way when the chips were down, to do all the little things. He answered the bell," Felder said. Winston threw the game winning touchdown pass with :13 seconds left in the game.

Many now feel the SEC had a down year. "Nobody went undefeated in the SEC this year," Felder said. The SEC had three teams finish in the top five. Felder said, "I look at the SEC and the fact that none of the teams could exploit Alabama's weaknesses."

The BCS is now gone and a committee will select the four teams for next year's playoff. There will be a long layoff for the national semi-finals and only one week to play the national championship game. "I just don't know that sits well with what they are trying to do," Felder said.
