Manny Machado Is Interested In An Extension

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- According to ESPN's Senior Writer Jim Bowden, Manny Machado would be happy to negotiate a long-term deal with the Orioles.

It's been circling around the rumor mill, especially among Birdland fans, that the three-time All-Star is a player the Orioles would (and should) hopefully hold onto.

Earlier this year he received the largest raise, agreeing to a one-year deal worth $5 million plus performance incentives in his first year of arbitration eligibility. Machado is signed with the Orioles through the 2017-2018 season but will be a free agent by 2019.

If the Orioles are interested, shouldn't they make a move sooner rather than later?

Machado's stock has definitely risen since spring training, and the price tag is only going to go up considering how he's performed this season so far.

What do you think about the contract extension?
