Man Who Landed Gyrocopter Onto Capitol Lawn Comes Home

WASHINGTON (WJZ)--For the first time tonight we are hearing from the pilot of that small gyrocopter who caused serious alarm in Washington D.C. after landing on the Capitol lawn last Wednesday.

Doug Hughes arrived back home in Florida early this morning following his arrest.

"I didn't see on the ground the reaction that I had expected. The police that took me into custody were very professional all the way through, even early on when their adrenalin was running," Hughes said.

Hughes is now under house arrest. He says he was delivering a message about campaign finance reform laws.
