Man Sentenced To 81 Years For Attacking 98-Year-Old Woman

TOWSON, Md. (AP) -- A 51-year-old man has been sentenced to 81 years in prison for attacking a 98-year-old woman in her Rodgers Forge home.

Paul Earnest Howard Jr. was convicted in April of assault, burglary, theft and false imprisonment. He was sentenced Friday in Baltimore County Circuit Court.

Prosecutors say on April 26, 2014, Howard went to the woman's home and said he noticed a problem with her roof.

Authorities say Howard threw the woman to the ground, breaking her hip, and stole cash and blank checks from her.
