Man Sentenced To 8 Years After Burglary With Girlfriend

HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) -- A Hagerstown man charged with forcing his way into a home last October was sentenced to serve eight years in prison.

The Herald-Mail of Hagerstown reports 29-year-old Anthony Wayne Bolyard Jr. received the sentence Monday after pleading guilty to one count of first-degree burglary in Washington County Circuit Court. In exchange for the plea, a judge dropped 17 other charges, including one count of home invasion.

Authorities say Bolyard and his girlfriend, 29-year-old Brandi Michelle Trimmer, stole property from a home while Bolyard brandished a BB gun. Trimmer was arrested at a pawn shop where she was trying to sell some of the stolen property. She pleaded guilty in May to theft between $1,000 and $10,000.

Trimmer is to be sentenced after the conclusion of a pre-sentence investigation.
