Man Sentenced In $180,000 Identity Theft Scheme

BALTIMORE (AP) -- An Owings Mills man has been sentenced to 42 months in prison for bank fraud and aggravated identity theft.

Twenty-five-year-old Darrick Jerome Greer was also ordered to pay more than $180,000 in restitution at sentencing Friday in federal court in Baltimore

According to his plea, Greer offered people money in exchange for personal information and PIN numbers. Prosecutors say Greer deposited checks fraudulently drawn from third-party accounts, and withdraw the funds to use himself.
