Man Robs Red Roof Inn In Hanover After Complaining About High Room Rates

HANOVER, Md. (AP) -- Police say a man robbed a hotel clerk at a Red Roof Inn in Hanover after complaining that the room rates were too high.

Anne Arundel County police say the robbery occurred on Saturday night. Police say a man inquired about a room and, after being told the rates, complained they were too pricey. He then drew a handgun, pointed at the clerk and demanded cash.

The clerk gave the man some cash, and police say he then tried to get more money from another drawer, but it was empty. The man then fled on foot.

Police have made no arrests.
