Man Pleads Not Guilty To Murder Charges In Double Stabbing

CUMBERLAND, Md. (AP) -- A Cumberland man is pleading not guilty to murder and other charges in a double stabbing in the western Maryland city in January.

The Cumberland Times-News reports that 26-year-old Ralph Faith entered the pleas Tuesday during his initial court appearance.

He is charged with second-degree murder in the Jan. 29 death of Christopher Wigington. Faith is also charged with assault and other offenses in the stabbing of Tracey Harris, who was wounded in the same incident at a home in Cumberland.

Faith is alleged to have used a tactical knife in the attack.

He has requested a jury trial and is seeking to have the cases heard separately.
