Man In Police Custody Jumps Out Of Hospital Window, Dies

BALTIMORE COUNTY, Md. (WJZ)—A man in police custody has died after he jumped from the fifth floor window of a hospital room on Thursday night.

It happened around 11:38 p.m. at the St. Joseph's Medical Center.

Baltimore County Police say the man was in police custody when he was brought to the hospital for treatment.

The room was located on the fifth floor and was being guarded by two officers, police said.

The man was able to move away from his bed, break the window, and jump to the ground below.

Authorities say corrections officers were not able to bring the man under control before he broke the window and jumped out.

The man has not been identified at this time.

This incident remains under investigation.
