Man Impersonating Officer Robs Woman In Baltimore

BALTIMORE (WJZ)-- Baltimore Police are on the hunt for a suspect after they say he impersonated a police officer and robbed a woman on Saturday afternoon.

It happened around 2:30 p.m. in the 3000 block of Gwynns Fall Parkway.

The victim told police as she was parked in her vehicle she was approached by a man who knocked on her window and asked for her drivers license and registration.

Believing he was a police officer, the victim lowered her window and then the suspect produced a handgun.

Police say the suspect then instructed the victim to turn off her car and place the keys on the seat. Moments later, the suspect takes the victim's purse and flees in a dark green, two-door older model Honda.

The suspect is described as a dark skinned man in his 40's, approximately 5' 7", weighing 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a dark colored vest, cream colored button up-shirt with a silver badge hanging around his neck.
