Man Faces Drug Charges After Traffic Stop In Frederick

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) -- Frederick police say a man riding in a car that was pulled over for a traffic violation is suspected of dealing marijuana.

Police say 21-year-old Dameon Irby of Silver Spring was a passenger in a car that was stopped early Sunday morning. Officers suspected that the driver and Irby may have been under the influence of drugs, and dogs were called to search the car.

Police say after Irby was asked to leave the car, a jar fell from the leg of his pants. Police say the jar had enough marijuana inside to indicate he planned to sell it. He was arrested and taken to a booking center.
