Man Dies After Jumping In Water To Retrieve Hat

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- A man who drowned after jumping into the water to retrieve a hat on the South River has been identified as 47-year-old Joseph Vincent Rossi of Edgewater.

Police and fire crews began looking for him Saturday night, but the search was suspended.

His body was recovered Sunday.

Investigators say he was not wearing a life jacket.

His body will be taken to medical examiner's office for autopsy.
