Man Convicted Of Murder In Dice Game Shooting

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- An Annapolis man has been convicted of first-degree murder in a shooting after a dice game.

Twenty-five-year-old Clarence Eugene Johnson III was also found guilty of attempted murder and other offenses Tuesday in Anne Arundel County Circuit Court.

Clarence Johnson was convicted of killing 33-year-old Joseph Johnson III of Brooklyn. The Johnsons were not related.

Prosecutors say Clarence Johnson and Joseph Johnson were shooting dice on Dec. 12, 2012, in a home in Annapolis when Clarence Johnson asked for the money he had lost back.

Authorities say when Joseph Johnson refused, Clarence Johnson left, came back with a gun and shot Joseph Johnson in the head.

Prosecutors say Clarence Johnson also shot a woman, who survived.

The Capital of Annapolis reports that a sentencing date has not been set.
