Man Claims He Has Bomb, Robs Maryland Bank

PASADENA, Md. (AP) -- Anne Arundel County Police are looking for a man who robbed a Pasadena bank by claiming he was carrying a bomb in a shoebox.

Police say the man walked into the Susquehanna Bank about 9:10 a.m. Tuesday with a shoebox and told a teller he had a bomb. Officers say the man demanded money, and the teller gave him cash.

Authorities say the man ran away, leaving the shoebox behind.

A witness saw a suspect get into a nearby pickup truck. The witness also told police that red smoke, possibly from a dye pack, was coming from the suspect.

County fire department investigators determined the shoebox did not contain a bomb.
