Man Charged With Stealing Motors, Scrap Metal From Farm

WESTMINSTER, Md. (AP) -- Westminster police say a Hampstead man has been charged with stealing motors and scrap from a farm.

Forty-year-old Terry Gene Gerard was arrested Saturday and charged with burglary, theft and trespassing.

Police say the manager of Sunnyside Farms contacted them on Sept. 22 to report thefts after he noticed scrap metal missing from a shed. Officers say the manager installed two cameras and got video of a man stealing items.

The Carroll County Times reports that court documents say Gerard scrapped 580 pounds of electric motors at a Baltimore recycling center in August and later scrapped 70 pounds of copper wiring.
