Man Charged With Negligent Hunting In Shooting Of Nephew

CUMBERLAND, Md. (AP) -- Maryland Natural Resources Police have charged a Cecil County man with negligent hunting in the shooting of his nephew in western Maryland.

Spokeswoman Candy Thomson said Tuesday that police issued the citation to 65-year-old Tracey Duvall of Rising Sun. She says officers also confiscated Duvall's 12-guage shotgun.

Thirty-nine-year-old Jason Duvall was in stable condition Tuesday at a Cumberland hospital.

Thomson says he suffered wounds to the right side of his face, chest, hip and groin when he was hit by a shotgun blast while turkey hunting with his uncle in the Green Ridge State Forest Monday morning.

Thomson says Tracy Duvall told investigators he fired at a turkey.
