Man Charged With Murder In Shooting Death In Harford County

PERRYMAN, Md. (AP) -- The Harford County Sheriff's Office has charged a man in the shooting death of another man in Perryman.

Deputies were called to Busby Road shortly after 8 a.m. Tuesday. Police say officers found 38-year-old James Allean Ashford, who had been struck by a car.

Authorities say the car was found a short distance away. Deputies say the driver, 28-year-old Joshua Allen Walter, had a gunshot wound to his upper body.

Walter died at a local hospital. Ashford was taken to a Baltimore hospital with injuries that do not appear to be life-threatening. Deputies say Walter and Ashford knew each other.

Ashford has been charged with first- and second-degree murder in Walter's death.
