Man Charged With Fatally Shooting 2 In Capitol Heights

CAPITOL HEIGHTS, Md. (AP) -- Prince George's County Police have charged a man with killing two D.C. men during an argument.

Authorities say on Wednesday, officers were called to Central Avenue in Capitol Heights for a report of a shooting. Police say the officers found 37-year-old Ernest Lott and 43-year-old Garland Johnson dead of gunshot wounds outside an apartment building.

Investigators say the men were killed during an argument with 32-year-old Zephren James of Bowie. Police say James was shot in the hand during the altercation and was arrested after he was treated at a hospital.

James is charged with two counts of first- and second-degree murder and is being held without bond.
