Man Charged With DUI At Drunken Driving Forum

SALISBURY, Md. (AP) -- A Snow Hill man is facing a drunken driving charge after authorities say he appeared intoxicated at a drunken driving victim impact panel.

The Wicomico County Sheriff's office says a deputy noticed that 66-year-old Alvin Powell was visibly intoxicated Tuesday when he approached the sign in table at the event for drunken driving offenders to meet with victims.

Officials say Powell gave a ride to 34-year-old Jason Lynch, who was required to attend after a conviction for driving under the influence. Officials say the deputy determined Lynch had also been drinking alcohol and later found 66-year-old Ronald Lynch in the car Powell drove, with an open container and cooler of beer.

Powell was charged with DUI and Jason and Ronald Lynch were charged with consumption of alcohol on public property.
