Man Facing Charges After Causing Scene At Gambrills Bar

GAMBRILLS, Md. (WJZ) -- An Anne Arundel County man is facing charges after causing a scene at a bar.

Police were called to the Irish Channel Pub in Gambrills for reports of a fight in progress.

They found a man, later identified as Charles Ryan, restrained by three other people.

Officers say Ryan was repeatedly shouting profanities at the staff, while attempting to fight them.

The manager told police that Ryan did not pay his bill. He then confronted him about it.

Officers say they could detect a strong odor of alcohol coming from his breath. His speech was also slurred and he had red, glassy eyes.

Ryan was eventually placed under arrest for disorderly conduct and failure to obey a reasonable and lawful order.

Authorities say he continued to shout profanities while sitting in the police car and even assaulted an officer by kicking his legs.

He verbally threatened the officer and made racially disparaging remarks as well.
