Man Charged With Attempted Murder Of Infant Son

SILVER SPRING, Md. (AP) -- Montgomery County Police have charged a Silver Spring man with attempted murder after his 2-month-old son was hospitalized with head trauma and rib fractures.

Adou Louis Kouadio, 24, surrendered to police on Friday. He is being held on $500,000 bond.

Police say on Feb. 4, Kouadio's son, Amir Iman-Kouadio, was taken to Children's Hospital in Washington after he was found unresponsive. Officers say the baby's mother had put him to bed the night before, and Kouadio had been awakened by his crying.

Police say Kouadio, the infant's primary caretaker, put the child back to bed, and later found blood coming from his nose. Paramedics were called.
