Man Charged With Assaulting 3-Year-Old Stepson

SALISBURY, Md. (AP) -- The Wicomico County Sheriff's Office says a man has been charged with assaulting his 3-year-old stepson.

Deputies were called to a home in Salisbury on Wednesday. Authorities say 32-year-old Anvar Kassim assaulted the boy after becoming upset that the child was walking up and down stairs.

The Daily Times of Salisbury reports that Kassim is charged with first- and second-degree assault and child abuse.
