Man Charged With Shooting Off-Duty Police Officer At Home

GWYNN OAK, Md. (AP) — A man has been charged with shooting an off-duty police officer at the officer's home in Baltimore County.

Baltimore County Police say in a news release that 45-year-old Antonio Tremayne Jones was arrested Saturday. He is charged with attempted murder and assault and is being held without bond.

Baltimore County Police say the 50-year-old Baltimore City police officer was off duty and at his home in Gwynn Oak on May 17. Investigators say the officer was shot through the front door before he opened it. He was taken to a hospital and is expected to survive.

Detectives say Jones is the estranged husband of the officer's girlfriend.

Online court records do not list a lawyer for Jones.
