Man Charged In Death Of 2-Year-Old Boy At Hotel

ODENTON, Md. (AP) -- Anne Arundel County police have arrested a man in connection with the death of a 2-year-old boy at an Odenton hotel.

Police announced on Friday that 22-year-old Dason Darius Hogan has been charged with first-degree and second-degree murder, among other charges.

The boy, Michael Lee-Ashley Stem, died at a hospital Monday after authorities were called that morning to the Royal Inn to help a child who was reported to have been suffering a possible cardiac arrest.

After conducting an autopsy, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined that the boy died from blunt force trauma.

Police say witnesses have told investigators that Hogan was watching the boy after the child's mother, who is Hogan's girlfriend, left for work.

It is unclear whether Hogan has an attorney.
