Man Charged in Assault of Dundalk Victim

Baltimore, Md. (WJZ) -- Detectives with the Baltimore County Police Violent Crimes Unit have charged a suspect in the July 6 assault of a Dundalk man that left him seriously injured.

Around 3:30 a.m. on July 6, police responded to the 3600 block of North Point Road for an urgent welfare check. Upon arrival, police found a 20-year-old man lying next to the roadway with traumatic injuries. Police say he was taken to an area hospital where he is still receiving treatment.

Shane Michael Williams (24) of Dundalk Avenue has been charged with attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault and second-degree assault. Detectives say Williams and the victim knew of each other, but the exact cause of the assault is unknown. Williams is being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center without bail.
