Man Accused Of Beating Women With Broomstick

CLARKSBURG, Md. (AP) -- Frederick County authorities say a man beat his wife and another woman with a broomstick in his Clarksburg home.

The Frederick News-Post reports Usmen Noor, 44, was arrested Thursday after a Frederick County sheriff's deputy responded to a reported domestic assault. He is charged with first- and second-degree assault and reckless endangerment.

Noor's wife told the deputy her husband was drunk when she and a 22-year-old woman entered the house. Both women say they were beaten but refused medical treatment.

Noor told police that he and his wife had been pushing each other.

His wife says the women took refuge in a car outside, along with her 16-year-old son and 6-year-old daughter.

She says Noor broke a car window, grabbed the visitor by the hair and beat her.
