Man, 20, Arrested After Fatal Shooting In Annapolis

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- Annapolis police say they've arrested a 20-year-old man in the fatal shooting of another 20-year-old man last week.

Police said Saturday morning that 20-year-old Carlos Simms of Annapolis has been charged with first-degree murder and other offenses in the slaying of Jordan Davis.

Simms was arrested on Friday. Police have not detailed a motive for the slaying, but in a statement, Police Chief Michael Pristoop calls it "senseless and unfortunate."

Davis was a Baltimore resident. He was shot in the neck on the evening of Jan. 30 and died at a hospital.

Simms is being held without bond. Court records indicate he does not yet have an attorney.
