'Major Drug Dealer' Pleads Guilty, Faces Life In Prison
GREENBELT, Md. (AP) -- A northern Virginia man who prosecutors describe as a major cocaine and heroin dealer in Maryland and beyond has agreed to plead guilty in the case and forfeit $108 million in luxury cars, jewelry and cash.
Anthony Tatum of Arlington pleaded guilty to drug and money laundering conspiracies and other charges in federal court in Greenbelt, Maryland last week.
In addition to the forfeiture of $108 million, the 36-year-old Tatum faces a minimum 15 years in prison but could be given a life sentence at a hearing in May.
Prosecutors say that between January 2011 and September 2013, Tatum and a group of other men worked with a drug supplier in California to ship cocaine and heroin to the region. Prosecutors say the drugs were distributed in Maryland and beyond.
