Lt. Governor Anthony Brown Details Proposals To Help Veterans

OCEAN CITY, Md. (AP) -- Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown says he would exempt military retirement income from state income taxes for the majority of veterans.

Brown, Maryland's Democratic nominee for governor and a 30-year Army veteran, spoke at an American Legion Convention in Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown says he would exempt military retirement income from state income taxes for the majority of veterans. on Thursday.

Brown has proposed what he calls a Compact with Maryland Veterans.

It includes creating a program to help veterans find jobs and creating a treatment court for veterans with mental health and addiction-related problems.

Brown also wants to create loans to ease financial hardships that veterans face while waiting for disability claims to be processed.
