Loyola Escapes At Navy With 67-65 Win

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- Franz Rassman scored 15 and Tyler Hubbard made two free throws with 4 seconds left to give Loyola (Md.) a 67-65 victory over Navy on Saturday.

Hubbard also gave Loyola (11-18, 6-12 Patriot League) a 65-63 lead on a free throw with 13 seconds to go. Worth Smith answered with a layup for Navy (9-20, 4-14) to tie the game at 65. Smith had 19 points.

On the inbounds pass after Worth's basket, Loyola threw the ball out of bounds, but Brandon Venturini was called for a foul which sent Hubbard to the line for the game winning free throws.

The teams had traded baskets to tie the game at 56, 58, 60 and 63, the last coming with 3:44 left in the game.

R.J. Williams made a free throw with 2:28 left to give Loyola a 64-63 lead and both teams went scoreless until the final sequence.
