Long-Serving Baltimore City Councilwoman Announces Retirement
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- A long-serving member of the Baltimore City Council announces her retirement.
Councilwoman Helen Holton will not seek re-election at the end of the council's 71st term.
Holton helped countless families gain employment, secure childcare and have access to quality educational and recreational facilities during her more than 20 years representing the 8th district.
Council President Jack Young says Holton will instead focus on her health.
