Local Students Awarded $1,000 Scholarships

BALTIMORE (WJZ) - Two Baltimore students have been awarded $1,000 in scholarship through the Kohl's Cares Scholarship Program.

Sixteen-year-old Vasiliki Argeroplos, and 12-year-old Ellie Feaga, both from Woodbine, Md. were awarded the $1,000 scholarships for their positive impact in their communities through volunteerism.

There were over 32,000 nominees nationwide who were selected for their positive impact in their communities and 200 of them were awarded the $1,000 scholarships.

Ten students were also awarded $10,000 scholarships and more then 2,000 students received $50 Kohl's gift cards.

Kohl's started this program in 2001, and since then has recognized more then 24,000 youths.
