Light Rail Accident Reported Near Convention Center

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Officials are investigating a light rail accident near the Convention Center.

The accident occurred on Pratt Street downtown.

A car was struck by a light rail train around 11 a.m.

The accident is causing delays in the area. A bus has been set up to allow light rail passengers to reach their destinations.

Cleanup is continuing; the light rail has returned to the Camden Yards station.

Five people were taken to the hospital; the extent of their injuries is unknown but they are not believed to be life-threatening.
