Kevin Gausman To Start Rehab This Weekend

BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Baltimore Orioles' pitcher Kevin Gausman is taking the next step in his rehabilitation for his shoulder.

After receiving a cortisone injection in his shoulder during spring training, Gausman is progressing towards a return to the Orioles' starting rotation. Gausman will first throw a two inning simulated game in Sarasota today MASN's Roch Kubatko reports.

As long as everything goes well and there are no setbacks after his simulated game, Gausman will make a rehab start for the AA Bowie Baysox on Saturday.

Manager Buck Showalter said Gausman will make starts in the minors lasting three and five innings before coming off the disabled list on April 19 as the Orioles take on the Blue Jays.
